54th Pacific Micromount Conference

Where: Fallbrook Mineral Museum

When: February 1-3, 2019

The 54th annual Pacific Micromount Conference at the Fallbrook Mineral Museum, 123 W. Alvarado Avenue, Fallbrook, California will begin on Friday afternoon, February 1 with microscope setup and greeting friends. A very large selection of carefully labeled micro minerals will be available on the $1 sales table. In the evening there will be talks on the unusual and interesting mercury mineralization found at the McDermitt Mine in Nevada.

On Saturday, February 2nd, the free give away table will also be open with material both from old collections and from material recently collected through arduous effort by avid field collectors. The morning talk by Paul Adams will be on the history and minerals of the Mohawk and Copper World Mines in Southern CA. During the afternoon there will be both a silent auction and a verbal auction of fine micro specimens. The afternoon talk will be by Robert Housley on the use of Raman spectroscopy in the study of secondary tellurium minerals.

There will be a field trip to an undisclosed location on Sunday.

Fallbrook is a short distance off of the 15 Freeway between San Bernardino and San Diego.
